Forklift Driver
Reinforcing Steel Industry
Mesh & Bar Pty Ltd is an innovative independent steel reinforcing company. We operate from premises in Brisbane's western suburb of Redbank, where we manufacture and distribute steel reinforcement products and associated building products to the construction industry.
Due to increasing growth we currently have an opportunity for a casual position of 40hrs per week for a Forklift Driver to assist with a variety of tasks and join our dedicated team. Reporting to the Warehouse & Transport Manager this role will provide support to various areas in the warehouse.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Loading/unloading trucks of steel reinforcing bar, mesh and coil products
- Clearing designated finished products from key set down areas and placing these products into associated accumulation zones in external yard
- Picking and packing multiple product lines and loading onto multiple vehicles for customer delivery
The successful applicant requires:
- High level of experience in operating large forklifts
- Experience in the steel industry an advantage
- Current High-Risk Work Forklift Licence
- Reliable transport to and from work
- The ability to understand, follow and comply with WH&S obligations and can demonstrate a safe work ethic
- Experience in the loading/unloading of vehicles
- High level of motivation
- The ability to follow safe work procedures, adhering to company policies.
This is a varied, busy and challenging role, with emphasis on a team environment, offering a variety of tasks. It is essential you are a self-starter with strong communication skills, together with good time management skills and have some flexibility in work hours.
