Position Overview

We are seeking experienced HC licenced drivers to be based in the western surburbs, S/E suburbs and Ballarat undertaking local & regional weekend work. This is an exciting opportunity for highly motivated individuals who are required to display a commitment to Sargeant Transport and our compliance standards and values.

Specific duties include but are not limited to:

• Day to day operation of a heavy combination vehicle.

• Daily Prestart checks on vehicle and MHE equipment.

• Complying with the Sargeant Transport coupling & uncoupling trailers and tug test procedures.

• Completing con notes/run sheets and ensuring you collect all the critical documents.

• Adhering to the Driver Manual and customer safety goals in direct areas of responsibility and adhering to all relevant OH&S legislative, policy and procedural requirements.

• Recording load weight in accordance with HVM.

The successful candidate will possess:

• Minimum 2 years' experience (refrigeration experience highly desirable).

• Extensive experience with coupling and uncoupling trailers, setting up Semi's.

• Good understanding of load restraint.

• Possess an HC Licence.

• High customer service skills, good communication, written and interpersonal skills.

• Good knowledge of Chain of Responsibility and road transport legislation.

• Mature attitude with the ability to work independently.
