Industrial Galvanizers now has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Production Supervisor to join their Sydney team. The ideal candidate will have a strong working history within an operations environment, preferably in production and will possess well developed supervisory skills and experience.
Reporting to the Operations Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for the safety, quality and production of operations. The ideal candidate will be flexible with regard to work hours and will be available to work both day and afternoon shifts. Duties include (but are not limited to):
- Directly supervise the operators of the galvanizing plant.
- Maximise labour productivity by defining challenging yet achievable production schedules and distributing labour across the operation to meet these requirements.
- Ensure agreed to customer turnaround timeframes and DIFOT targets are achieved through effective scheduling.
- Investigate and implement improvements to operating efficiency, processes, productivity, quality, cost control and customer service.
- Ensure product quality to AS 4680 or customer expectations is maintained.
- Work with the Operations Manager to forecast labour requirements.
- Ensure the SHE policies of the company are implemented and maintained.
- Driving safety culture by supporting and coordinating the identification, reporting and investigation of all hazards and incidents.
- Focus on continuous improvement in production processes to lower costs and improve lead times.
Key Skills and Experience:
- Proven experience and knowledge working in an operations environment preferably in production
- Well-developed supervisory experience
- Excellent production and scheduling skills
- Strong passion for safety
- Sound computer skills – intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong communication skills
