A vacancy has arisen for an experienced Operations Manager to join our Welshpool based operations. This role plays an integral part in the success of the business with direct accountability for the growth and profitability of the Travel Tower operations in Western Australia.

This role reports through to the General Manager and is responsible for:

  • Providing safety leadership;
  • Developing and implementing branch strategies to accomplish set objectives;
  • Ensuring achievement of branch business objectives and outcomes 
  • Maximising returns on equipment assets (Travel Towers & associated equipment);
  • Leading, motivating and managing a small team of permanent and casual staff across 2 sites to ensure the business operates safely and efficiently;
  • Assessing Western Australian markets with a focus on identifying opportunities within the broader State marketplace to increase company market share;
  • Building and maintaining strong customer relationships within the Western Australian region which will directly contribute to profitable growth of the business;
  • Managing budgets and finances (includes full P&L);
  • Ensuring appropriate asset allocation and utilisation;
  • Managing fleet maintenance.

To be considered for the role, you must be able to clearly demonstrate and communicate your experience and skills in the following areas:

  • A passion for safety, systems and customer service.
  • Outstanding people management and communication skills.
  • A strong knowledge of Industrial relations and high labour management skills.
  • A track record in delivering, safe, cost effective and quality operational services or outcomes, preferably in a heavy industrial services environment or the construction, resources or manufacturing industry.
  • The ability to develop client relationships and be comfortable and effective in customer interfacing, including sales and contractual negotiation.
  • Experience in running a successful operational business unit, including a good understanding of sales, P/L's, budgeting and maintenance processes.
  • Formal qualifications in business management are advantageous.
