Reporting to the Construction Manager, the Procurement Officer will be responsible in determining the requirement, procurement, schedule and expedite the deliveries of materials and services for manufacturing and construction sites. Based in Naval Base, you will be expected to provide expert material advice and solutions for the manufacturing and construction line of the business.

The key duties and responsibilities of the role will include, but are not limited to:

  • Analyse drawings and specifications to determine accurate material and service requirements
  • Research materials to provide expert advice, design efficiencies and cost savings
  • Obtain competitive pricing for products and services not covered by existing agreements
  • Raise and expedite purchase orders
  • Ensure material ordered meets performance and code requirements
  • Schedule on time deliveries of materials and services to support project timelines
  • Maintain records for all projects and provide access to relevant personnel
  • Provide post project review reports and continual improvement feedback
  • Collaborate with all internal stakeholders on the supply of material and services to support the successful production and delivery of projects

To be successful in the role, you must have:

  • Minimum of 3 years procurement experience in Manufacturing, Construction or related industry – Modular experience an advantage
  • Experience with ERP systems and associated process flows
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings / addenda / plans / specifications
  • Knowledge of Business Codes and Australian Standards
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Good skills in Microsoft Office programs
  • Flexible, analytical and ability to problem solve
  • Excellent communication, organisation and administration skills
