We are looking for a self-motivated Superintendent - Contracts professional to join our Supply team based at our Milton office.  As Superintendent – Contracts, you will support the Procurement Manager in the processes of procurement, contract development, tendering, recording and evaluation for the Harmony SE Asia operation and its subsidiary companies. Reporting to the Procurement Manager, this role will be responsible for:

• Leading business strategy and delivering value across a range of business dimensions
• Develop, implement, monitor, analyse, evaluate and share commodity market conditions/trends, developing technologies, supply chain capacity / capability, product knowledge, customer requirements and supply/demand challenges
• Design, develop, implement and manage product / service strategies and perform opportunity analysis to identify sourcing and continuous improvement projects that will deliver significant cost savings and value improvement
• Design, develop, implement and manage rigorous and disciplined processes and frameworks for managing the supply base, including leading periodic business reviews, monitoring and managing supplier performance (quality, cost, delivery, technology, service, and leadership), managing supplier relationships, and resolution, developing and monitoring supplier improvement plans
• Design, develop, implement and manage spend management strategies including supplier assessments and rationalization, negotiation for best total cost of ownership, vendor managed inventories, inventory reduction programs, cycle time improvements, security of supply, supplier diversity, continuous improvement and procurement/engineering collaboration
• Provide leadership and input into strategic sourcing projects as either a sponsor or participant throughout the project lifecycle.  Including advising as subject matter expert, lead and participation within negotiation teams and undertaking contract implementation
• Measure and manage the overall performance of the supplier network within contracts under management
• Design, develop, implement and manage metrics, tools, and processes to optimize sourcing, supplier activities, and efficiencies, and work collaboratively with team members to prioritize and drive implementation
• Develop project plans, deliverables, metrics and milestones
• Design, develop, implement and manage procurement and contracting management systems necessary to achieve desired results in line with the regulatory framework
• Direct the development and negotiation of goods and services contracts with suppliers, encompassing key program specifications and functional objectives
• Design, develop, implement and manage governance and control programs to ensure business continuity, protect company assets, and comply with corporate and regulatory policies

The successful applicant will have qualification in procurement, business or equivalent, coupled with proven experience in a procurement leadership role (preferably at a management or 2IC level) with a medium to large complex organisation. You will have highly developed understanding of relevant regulatory frameworks and contract law. Broad and general business acumen, incorporating extensive experience working with and/or across multiple business functions and disciplines is essential, as well as having extensive and proven experience in preparing and delivering presentations; reports; analysis findings to executives and senior management.  Past site experience working offshore especially if that experience was in PNG will be highly regarded.
