Major Furnace Australia Pty Ltd is located in Clayton and since 1912 has been providing innovative engineering solutions in the field of thermal and mineral processing, refractory, dust and fume extraction. Due to an ever-increasing workload, we are seeking a self-motivated versatile general hand, initially on a casual basis, to assist with production in our fabrication factory.

 Duties are to include:

• Operation of workshop machinery.
• Perform quality and quantity inspections of outgoing goods.
• Assisting in the movement of materials around the factory ensuring a clean tidy work space.
• Supporting trades as and when required.
• Loading and unloading of incoming and outgoing goods.

The successful applicant must have the following skills and attributes:

• Forklift Truck License.
• Previous exposure in a steel fabrication factory.
• A positive attitude and a team player open to learning new skills.
• Punctual and reliable.

The following would also be highly regarded:

• Welding experience (MIG).
• Use of overhead cranes and other material handling equipment.
• HR Truck License.
