Description
Reporting into the Production Manager, you will be a key member of the operational team and be responsible for driving employees to achieve the daily production targets.
This role is challenging, with quality and productivity being a primary focus, and as a result is suited to a 'hands on’on’ team leader who can adapt to changing production requirements.
You will encourage a positive workplace culture and encourage the team to achieve personal and organisational objectives.
Other responsibilities include:
- Performance management and ensuring that all reporting is provided to the Production Manager in a timely manner
- Developing continuous improvement and cost reduction plans to maximise production output and minimise waste
- Ensure compliance to HACCP, GMP, Quality procedure and SOP’s, to ensure the highest standards are maintained
- Promote company-wide OH&S policies and ensure that safety is at the forefront of all operations on site
Profile
The successful candidate will have:
- A minimum of 2 years' experience in the food industry, ideally in meat or poultry manufacturing
- Have a proven track record of supervision and leading a team to achieve KPI’s for safety, productivity and cost control
- Experience in driving change, particularly in the areas of safety, quality and continuous improvement
- Demonstrated capability in problem solving, with the ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing needs
- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff & management
