Eaton Vehicle Group (a division of Eaton Industries Pty Ltd) is a wholly owned subsidiary of Eaton Corporation USA, a diversified industrial manufacturer and major supplier to the Vehicle industry worldwide.  Locally, Eaton Vehicle Group is predominantly an importer and wholesaler/distributor of truck transmissions, clutches and service parts for the Truck industry in Australia, New Zealand and South East Asia.

 

The position is based in Rowville, Victoria and role reporting to the SCM Manager and is responsible for managing the shipping/freight forwarding for import and export consignments whilst following Eaton safety standards and country legal compliance requirements.

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Maintain shipping register, sea and air imports and exports, and record all necessary statistics, for SCM, Marketing/Sales, and reporting to APAC region.
  • Liaise with forwarders and customs agents to ensure efficient handling of our shipments and legal compliance. Monitor all customs entries to ensure correct duty paid, and correct tariff classification, or eligibility under FTA. Keep abreast of changes and ensure our providers and consultants have latest information pertaining to Eaton products. 
  • Liaise with Accounts Department regarding overseas payables.
  • Perform duties in Oracle ERP system for all inward goods transactions, including data input of purchase orders, expense items, receiving, and reporting via BI. Record and report discrepancies/adjustments required following receiving check.
  • Monitor incoming airfreights so that customer can be advised of the exact location of consignment while in transit. Co-ordinate with all other departments involved. Maintain “ex works” register on the network for other users to ascertain shipment status.
  • Liaise with APAC region, WHQ and other overseas divisions on all matters pertaining to container and freight utilization.
  • Check all other matters relating to Fumigation, Quarantine and various other procedures covering the importation of goods.
  • Liaise with Freight service providers to check and ensure best rates and most efficient service is provided.  Work with SCM Manager to check and process freight charges.
  • Verify freight invoices against statements and approve via MarkView tool.
  • Manage New Item Part Creation process.
  • Monitor and assist with inventory accuracy, including stock take and cycle counting.

 

Key Requirements:

  • minimum of 3 years’ experience in International Shipping management
  • Competence in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc)
  • Proficiency with Oracle, SAP or similar ERP software
  • Strong understanding of international shipping procedures.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills, customer focus attitude, self-motivation and a “Can Do” attitude

 

Additional Requirements:

  • Automotive or transport industries background is preferable.
