Emerald Carrying Company are currently seeking an experienced Road Transport Mechanic in a full-time permanent role to join the team in the Townsville, depot. The successful candidate will display a 'Can Do' attitude, be a team player with a proven track record in a similar role.
Emerald Carrying Company are looking for individuals with strong attention to detail, are dedicated to achieving safe working practices and is willing to participate in after-hours call outs and breakdown and/or emergency response activities.
Emerald Carrying Company are seeking quality candidates and are willing to negotiate on salary/hourly rate to find the right person for the team. Remuneration will be dependent on relevant skills and experience in line with the current market.
About the person:
The successful candidate will possess the following attributes:
- Trade qualifications in Automotive Mechanics (Heavy Road Transport) (essential);
- Exceptional time management and prioritisation skills;
- Knowledge of the NHVAS systems;
- Demonstrated experience within the Heavy Vehicle repair industry;
- Sound communication skills, both written and verbal;
- Demonstrated ability to work unsupervised whilst maintaining a safe work area;
- Knowledge of Mack/Volvo, Western Star and KW will be held in high regard;
- Experience with the maintenance of fuel trucks and trailers;
- Diagnostic knowledge of Cummins, Mack and Volvo engines;
- MC/HC Drivers Licence;
- Sound level of Mathematics skills (advantageous); and
- Knowledge of ABS/EBA systems with diagnotics skills using Wabco, Knorr-Bremse electronic diagnostics equipment (advantageous);
