About the Organisation
Pacific Blue Produce is a new packing and warehouse facility with state of the art equipment. Pacific Blue Produce packs and markets local Australian Grower’s cucumbers and blueberries to leading national supermarkets and retailers throughout Australia.
About the Role
An exciting opportunity has opened up for a self motivated, reliable and highly organised individual to provide hands-on leadership within the Packing department.
Reporting directly to the Production Manager, the Packing Leading Hand is responsible for assisting the coordination of the packing functions to ensure the quality and timeliness of customer orders meets expectations.
The role is dynamic with a requirement to work fluctuating hours including, public holidays and weekends.
Key Responsibilities include:
• Undertake all tasks required to ensure all loads leave on time
• Organise and work with the production team members to ensure the completion of all orders is achieved in a timely manner, through efficient production line management.
• Liaise with other departments to ensure daily quantum's' are met
• Organise all paperwork, ensuring high levels of accuracy
• Prioritise daily tasks in accordance with logistic requirements
• Operate forklift to load and unload materials as required
• Report all issues to the Production Manager
• Assist with cleaning and housekeeping duties
The successful candidate will have:
• Previous exposure to food production, machinery or equipment required
• Good computer skills
• High Risk Forklift License desirable
• Previous team management experience
• Diversity awareness
• Training and coaching experience
• Planning & organizational skills
• Able to follow procedures & instruction
It is a key requirement of this role that the successful candidate is willing to work Saturdays with the possibility of transitioning to permanent role should a full time opportunity arise.
