Operations Assistant
GTS Freight Group (GTS), consisting of GTS Freight Management and G1 Logistics, is a privately owned, market leader in linehaul transport and logistics solutions, servicing a range of blue chip companies nationally. The group has a fleet of over 100 prime movers, over 300 trailers and 22,000 sqm of warehousing. GTS has a strong reputation in the transport industry due to its focus on customer service, safety and compliance.
A full time position has now become available within our Operations Team.
Working with the existing team, this role is responsible for ensuring safe, effective, efficient and responsive service delivery to customers. With a focus on operational performance and driver compliance, you will also maintain strong teams with a 'Can Do, Will Do' attitude ensuring our employees feel valued, recognised and engaged.
Previous experience in the transport industry in a similar role is essential.
Duties will include but not limited to:
- Highly effective planning, organising and problem solving skills together with the ability to lead, motivate and influence others.
- Relationship management, conflict management and resolution.
- Demonstrated experience managing multiple tasks and maintaining focus on priorities.
- To liaise with customers and coordinate resolution of issues arising in a timely and effective manner.
- Determine, acquire and allocate resources to ensure efficient logistics operations.
To be successful in the role you will possess the following attributes:
- Certificate IV in Leadership and Management or equivalent workplace experience.
- Chain of Responsibility and Fatigue Management qualifications.
- Demonstrated industry experience in transport, logistics or supply chain operations.
- Demonstrated success in people management.
- Ability to lead and manage change.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Exceptional customer service skills.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
