Operations Supervisor

The Opportunity:
The overall purpose of this position is to implement, manage and coordinate all operational activities for the business unit. With a focus on the day to day running of the terminal, the key responsibility of the Operations Supervisor is to ensure the safe, effective and efficient delivery of contractual obligations whilst maintaining a high level of customer service.
Key focus areas for this role will include safety, service, quality, culture and continuous improvement activities.
You will be responsible for:
- The day-to-day running of the terminal
- Safety improvements & compliance
- Team tool box meetings
- Yard staff rosters
- Maintenance and repairs
- Incident investigation
- Delivering agreed KPI’s
- Promoting a team environment
- Manage selected contracts
- Liaison with transport fleet supervisors
- Ensure correct procedures are applied to imports/exports
- Ensuring that imports are unpacked and warehoused in a safe & efficient process
- Staff training compliance
- Site inductions for staff and visitors
To be successful in this role you will have:

- Several years’ experience in a similar transport operations role
- Be driven, focused, and accountable
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to negotiate and influence
- Strong time management and problem solving skills
