Tasks:
Reporting to the Operations Manager, the key areas of responsibility include, but are not limited to:
• Developing technical specifications based on functional requirements for existing and potential markets. Working with the sales and marketing team to evaluate the current market and justify new product developments to grow the business.
• Developing functional testing requirements for products/components and implement periodic testing program. Identifying clear performance guidelines. Ensuring products maintaining compliance with performance requirements and relevant standards.
• Ensuring production BOM’s are correct and up to date. Creating new BOM’s as required for new part variants. Maintaining correct work instructions and JSEA’s as required. Ensuring production staff are trained properly in the correct procedures.
• Establishing and maintain contacts with suppliers for technical support, to improve material quality and/or to decrease costs. Supporting the supply chain department with analyzing quality issues, sourcing alternative components and reporting.
• Supporting the marketing and sales department in the creation of new products and the customization of existing products. Providing support to the sales department for new tenders and ensure technical specifications are met.
• Establishing contacts with internal and external customers to support the existing product groups and resolve technical issues.
Key requirements include :
• Relevant engineering degree (or recognized equivalent) with ideally experience in mechanical engineering
• Experience managing product development projects, ideally complex products with mechanical, electrical and electronic component types.
• Advanced computer skills including SAP knowledge or experience, Microsoft Office & MS Project, AutoCAD (preferred) etc.
• Experience in coordinating stakeholders in diverse functional areas.
