The position is an exciting role with an opportunity to grow as an environmental professional, and will include a range of environmental management responsibilities over a number of established and developing sites.

About the role

Reporting to the Environmental Coordinator, you will be responsible for field environmental sampling and monitoring, and will provide environmental advice, services and support to all CSD projects. This role will involve a range of responsibilities including:

Duties

  • Conduct field environmental sampling and monitoring
  • Ensure that all monitoring and sampling is undertaken to required standards in an efficient, effective and timely manner
  • Ensure maintenance and calibration of field equipment and maintain field storage facilities and inventory
  • Assist in data entry and data management as required
  • Participate in workplace inspections and compliance audit programs, and assist line management to prepare improvement plans to address non-compliance
  • Work cooperatively with site departments to ensure good environmental outcomes.

 

Skills & Experience

Essential

  • Trade qualification or certification in relevant field e.g. conservation and land management, natural resources, horticulture
  • Experience in a similar role conducting environmental sampling and monitoring
  • Organisational skills with the ability to meet assigned deadlines
  • Ability to conduct field work, often in remote areas
  • High level of personal fitness
  • Confident communication and interpersonal skills
  • Competency in using Excel and Microsoft Office

Highly regarded

  • Previous mining experience
  • Practical skills in small tools and maintenance of monitoring equipment
  • 4WD experience

  • Excellent work ethic with a strong drive for continuous improvement
