Round Oak Minerals is a subsidiary of Washington H. Soul Pattinson & Co Ltd (WHSP). This includes a Cloncurry Operation with a centralised processing facility located 4km from the township of Cloncurry in North Queensland servicing a number of mining tenements in the area.  Additionally, Round Oak Minerals also has projects in South Australia, Victoria and has just recently acquired the Jaguar Mine in Western Australia. 2018 is shaping up to be a year of significant growth for the Company.
 

The Role

We are currently searching for an experienced Senior Exploration Geologist to join our Jaguar Operation. Reporting to the Exploration Manager, this permanent full-time role is offered on an 8:6 roster flying in and out of Perth. 
 

Duties and Responsibilities

• Planning, designing and execution of exploration programmes;
• Providing technical direction as well and mentoring and support to geological and field staff;
• Maintaining relationships with landholders;
• Completing statutory technical reporting and monthly reporting; and
• QA/QC monitoring and reporting;
• Drill rig supervision;
• RC percussion chip and diamond drill core logging;
• Building positive safety culture on site.
   

The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate:

• Substantial previous experience in a similar role, accompanied by a tertiary qualification in Geology or Geoscience;
• Well-established knowledge of base metals and demonstrated experience working with VMS style deposits;
• Experience in the WA regulatory environment;
• Previous project planning and management skills;
• Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal;
• High level of computer literacy;
• Current C class drivers licence;
• Current first aid certificate;
• A strong commitment to workplace safety and culture of continuous improvement.
