Minara Resources is wholly owned by Glencore, one of the world’s largest global diversified natural resource companies. Our Murrin Murrin Operations in Western Australia’s northern Goldfields involves the integrated mining and refining of nickel and cobalt on site.
The Role:
We currently have an opportunity for an experienced Mine Surveyor to join our Survey team. This is a hands-on role which will see you work in a multi pit operation over 4 different project areas within a 60km radius in a results driven environment, working with people who take pride in their work. Reporting to the Team Lead - Mine Survey, your accountabilities are to provide technical support to ensure the safe, efficient and accurate removal & reporting of material.
Key Duties:
- End of month surveys and reporting
- Liaising professionally with other departments within the mining technical services
- Provide daily survey requirements (set out and pick up)
- Miscellaneous project work(i.e. exploration, plant surveys etc)
- Volume calculations, producing daily plans and record keeping as required
Position Requirements:
- Experience in mine production surveying in an open cut environment
- Demonstrated ability to complete projects to plan and specification
- Data management and reporting skills
- Demonstrated safety behaviour and awareness in previous positions
- Experience in using Surpac, TBC, Quikslope and Bench View is preferred
- Demonstrated experience in using Trimble R8 GPS and Leica TS15 Total Station
- Effective communication and relationship building skills
- Proactive and self-motivated attitude
- Current C Class Driver’s Licence

This permanent fulltime position is available on 8 days on / 6 days off roster, FIFO from Perth only (or DIDO from the Goldfields). We fly to site on jets making it a short and comfortable flight and our village is well equipped to keep you entertained - with a newly refurbished gym, tennis courts, basketball courts, cricket nets, swimming pool and tavern. All our rooms are ensuited and our chefs will ensure you are well fed.
