Location: Site based at Carrapateena

Roster: 8 days on 6 days off; travel 100% on company time from Adelaide or Port Augusta

Reporting to: General Manager – Carrapateena

The purpose of this role during the project and construction phase is to lead the Integrated Planning functions for the site, including mining engineering, geology, geotechnical engineering. The Integrated Planning team will support the operational teams in the delivery of the project, as well as interaction with construction and project teams.

During production ramp up and operations, this role will lead the integration of the operational teams across mining, processing and maintenance through the Management Operating System (MOS). The Integrated Planning team will consolidate all planning for the site across short, medium and long-term horizons.

Key responsibilities

The Manager – Integrated Planning (Technical Services) will focus on ensuring the value of Carrapateena is maximised. Specifically, this includes:

  • Continuous improvement of the site’s safety, environment and community relations performance.
  • Develop integrated teams and plans for the operation to bring together mining, processing and maintenance activities.
  • Utilise the Management Operating System (MOS) to prepare and deliver integrated site plans across the Life of Province, Budget, Quarterly, 13 Week and Weekly planning horizons, with significant operational team input, involvement and ownership.
  • Develop necessary processes and systems across all technical disciplines and enable Operational Readiness Plans for Carrapateena to be developed and delivered.
  • Carry our reviews and optimisation studies to outline preferred strategic development options for the mine and surrounding mineralisation.
  • Resource and Reserve Definition and Reporting, including establishing and implementing grade control, reconciliation and reporting procedures.

Applicant requirements

This role requires a values based individual with a desire to deliver best practice outcomes with skills and personal attributes including:

  • Demonstrated ability to deliver an open, inclusive and innovative team culture.
  • High level of multidisciplinary technical team management and leadership.
  • Demonstrated establishment of new mining operations and associated teams, processes and practices, including mine to mill to market optimisation from life of mine through to operational planning.
  • Formal qualifications in Mining Engineer, Geology, Geotechnical or Metallurgy.
  • Desired: Extensive experience in underground SLC or Block caving operations.
