The South Flank Project is being executed by a fully Integrated Project Team (IPT), jointly established by BHP and Fluor, consisting of employees from both organisations, as well as other contracting organisations as applicable. The project has an exciting opportunity for a suitably qualified Construction Package Manager (NPI/ PCF) to work as part of the Integrated Project Team. This will be a site based role on a 15/6 roster, and the opportunity to join an exciting, large scale project in its early stages. 

 

 

Job Description:

 

Provide on-site leadership and direction for the delivery of the non process infrastructure (NPI) construction package, in order to deliver against scope, schedule, quality and budget on behalf of the NPI Area Project Manager.

 

 

Core Functional Accountabilities:

 

- Works in conjunction with the Area Construction Manager and other Construction Package Managers.

- Liaises with the Site Operations in relation to all Operations I Contractor interfaces.

- Directs the construction phase of the contract package.

- Manages the construction schedule, cost and scope to deliver in accordance with the contract.

- Monitors site progress to ensure that any deviations are managed, communicated and rectified.

- Manages the site project team reporting to them, including Project Engineering, Site Superintendents, survey and geographical consultants.

- Takes a lead role in implementing the Company Safety Program, including participating in Field Leadership and Safety Pauses.

- Manages day to day interaction with the Contractor.

- Co-ordinates the technical query process onsite including the seeking of off-site support as required.

- Input to the monthly progress claims including verification of quantities.

- Daily and weekly reporting.

- Input to monthly reporting.

- Flexibility to work either a 15/6 or 20/8 roster. (Roster availability is dependent on the role)

 

 

Qualifications / Experience / Skills

 

- Appropriate technical qualifications and experience as described above.

- 8 – 10 years of experience in a similar role within the Australian iron ore sector.
