Using a deeper understanding of client objectives, constraints, market, environment and aspirations, we enhance efficiency, productivity and sustainability. We are currently seeking a Risk and Safety Engineer and a Principal Risk and Safety Engineer.
General responsibilities include the following, commensurate with the different grades. Position descriptions provide finer details:
- Deliver Risk and Safety consultancy advice and develop technical studies and Safety Cases for Genesis oil and gas clients based on agreed scopes of work, and in line with applicable standards and regulations.
- Risk and Safety Workshops – Preparation, Client liaison, Facilitation, Scribing, Report preparation and delivery.
- Preparation of risk analysis studies.
- Development of Formal Safety Assessment (FSA) studies commensurate with years of experience.
- Application of risk and safety software tools such as PHAST, SAFETI, BowTieXP.
- Develop and implement project plans for assigned tasks, meet agreed schedules and delivery milestones.
- Assist with proposals in line with Genesis procedures, under direction of senior personnel.
The successful candidate(s) will work across a range of interesting oil and gas projects, taking responsibility for applying their engineering skills to analyse problems, provide advice and make a difference to the safety performance of oil and gas facilities. The person will work alongside highly experienced engineers functioning as effective teams, sharing knowledge and working together to deliver effective solutions for Genesis clients.
Key Skills and Experience Required:
- Engineering Degree.
- Genuine interest and aspirations in the field of Risk and Safety, within a consultancy setting.
- Experience in risk and safety engineering on oil and gas projects, including fire and explosion risk analysis and Formal Safety Assessments.
- Experience in Safety Cases.
- Desire and ability to take on new challenges, and gain skills and experience in Risk and Safety work.
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Organised, efficient and an effective team player.
