Starting in 2005, Ranger Drilling Services is an Australian owned company aiming to deliver a safe and productive drilling solution for our customers across a wide range of drilling applications from Air Core, Grade Control, Reverse Circulation and water bores. Ranger currently have Drill Rigs operating in the Pilbara and Northern Goldfield regions of Western Australia for major mining companies.

Due to significant growth, we are looking for a HSET Advisor with 3 plus years experience to contribute to the achievement of the company's mission through the implementation and maintenance of health, safety and environment structures and processes, and to assist in driving a company culture.
 

At Ranger Drilling, our HSET Advisors are responsible for:

  • Assisting in the development of HSET processes that are aligned to the company's mission;
  • Assisting in the maintenance of field based OHS, QA and Environmental management documentation in preparation or participation in second or third party audits;
  • Presenting as interface liaison between operational teams, supervisors, client representatives and Management to ensure relevant OHS, QA and Environmental contract documentation is completed and up-to-date and distributed as required;
  • Regular rig inspection to ensure compliance and advise/recommend remedial actions;
  • Developing and fostering a culture where best practice and working safely are paramount;
  • Conducting regular training sessions to ensure that all personnel are trained in current OHS, QA and Environmental policies and procedures;
  • Maintaining and checking records of site documentation relevant to OHS, QA and Environment including pre- start drilling checks, site inductions, and tool-box meetings;
  • Working with Management to ensure plant and equipment on site are all compliant with latest regulations;
  • Monitoring HS&E performance and reports to HSEQ Manager regularly;
  • Reporting, investigating and following up all incidents ensuring timely closeout;
  • Keeping abreast of HS&E legislation, best practice and tools and leverage these to facilitate contemporary HS&E practices within the operational teams;
  • Training and mentoring Site Safety and Health Representatives
  • Managing first response for the injury management function within your area and coordinate return to work progress;

 

Required skills and experience for this role include:

  • Minimum of a Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety;
  • Certificate IV in Training & Assessing;
  • Senior First Aid Certificate;
  • Field based time within the mining industry (preferred);
  • Considerable experience in a similar position managing of health, safety, environment and training;
  • Experience with the management of injured workers.
