• Be a key part of shaping one of the world’s most significant greenfields underground projects • Wide range of exposure and development opportunities within a strong technical team • Residential major city base with moderate international travel - Brisbane About the role We are looking for a Senior Mining Engineer to undertake medium-term mine development schedules and plans for the underground project. This role is a great opportunity join the Brisbane based MPT team in building one of the world’s most exciting underground mining projects. Reporting to the Planning & Scheduling Superintendent, you will be: • Leading the quarterly (3-12 month focus) mine execution schedule and plan to the OTUP execution team • Operating within an integrated planning process where engaging with multiple stakeholders is key, as well as on time delivery • Ensuring schedules are practical and include interactions with ventilation, services, and infrastructure, and are adequately resourced • Reporting of spatial compliance to the mine plan • Undertaking general scheduling related project and trade-off work • Further establishment and refinement of scheduling processes and ways of working About you To be successfully considered for this role, you will have: • A Mining Engineering degree • Extensive mine scheduling experience using the Deswik suite and resource levelling • Demonstrated practical underground hard rock mining experience • Highly effective communication and stakeholder management skills, including ability to work with global teams and mentor other engineers • Exposure to mass mining techniques • Integrated schedule management, with sound understanding of ventilation, construction, and geotechnical influences Where you will be working The Growth & Innovation group operates through the entire life cycle of Rio Tinto’s mines and assets, creating value through exploration, project development and technical excellence.
