About the Role

We currently have a position available for a Terminal Operator (Shift Relief) situated at our Bulwer Terminal. In this role you will provide assistance to the Terminal Manager/Assistant Terminal Manager in managing and controlling the safe and efficient operations to the Terminal. You will be responsible for maintaining the daily terminal operations, that the needs of customers are met in a timely manner with due regard to HSSE, reliability, efficiency, cost, stakeholder relationships, product stewardship & customer service.

Key responsibilities

  • Assist Terminal Management in pursuit of ATOM’s safety objectives by maintaining a strong HSSE culture and developing HSSE awareness of all users of the terminal
  • Personally contribute to maintaining the terminal in a safe & reliable operational state when carrying out Terminal Operator duties in accordance with internal procedures and statutory requirements.  This involves identification of hazards / risks which may impact site integrity and implement controls via implementation of group standards
  • Working with Contractors to ensure their adherence to terminal operating rules and regulations
  • Complete administration as required to assist in maintaining the company standards, policies and procedures i.e. Update Work Instructions, review HSSEQ systems
  • Pipeline or tankship Product Receipt Accountabilities : where the role is directly engaged in controlling product receipt by pipeline or tankships, ensure that the relevant procedures are followed and adhered to
  • Ability to adapt to various job roles and flexibility to work outside of normal operational hours when required to provide unplanned and planned shift cover for both day and night shift rosters

Key Skills and Experience

  • An experienced communicator - able to communicate with positive personal impact and influence
  • A trade qualification and/or experience in bulk fuel handling receipt, storage & distribution procedures within a terminal operations environment are highly desirable, however, we will consider candidates from other industries and backgrounds, where they can demonstrate transferable skills and the right attitude
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply HSSEQ policies and practices
  • IT Skills - ability to use Email, MS Word & Excel
  • Flexible enough to adapt to various job roles
