The Company:
 
IHC Robbins is a multi-discipline technology business, operating from Brisbane (Head Office) and Perth.
 
The Company is part of the IHC Mining division of the Royal IHC group and is a leading service provider to the Heavy Minerals mining and processing sector. IHC Robbins provides clients with geological services, metallurgical test work, practical engineering, specialised equipment and integrated plant solutions.
 
The Role:
 
This is a great opportunity for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to coordinate the preparation and realisation of project deliverables. This is a hands-on role, which will work with the team to analyse, design, develop and maintain engineering solutions for IHC Robbins products, processes and equipment. You will be involved in the planning and execution of projects, generating continuous improvement of processes, installations and equipment.
 
You will be responsible for:

• Utilising your existing networks and building external relationships to drive growth in the engineering project pipeline
• Analysing, designing, developing and maintaining engineering solutions for IHC products, technologies, production processes, installation and equipment
• Planning and executing projects and/or project design in line with project requirements, integrating all technical activities
• Assessing specifications and/or customer requirements related to products and processes
• Translating process flowsheets into optimal engineering design
• Developing designs for mechanical equipment
• Presenting and explaining concept proposals, engineering reports, and technical findings to clients
• Visiting customers' sites to better understand their concerns and application conditions;
• Supporting internal and external stakeholders on technical aspects and questions
• Developing, implementing and improving policies, standards and procedures for the engineering and technical work performed in the department
• Keeping up to date with relevant engineering methods, tools and technologies in the market 
• Ensuring conformity with specifications and plans, regulations and safety standards
• Focusing on knowledge management to retain and develop IHC Robbins' intellectual property

Essential Criteria:
 
The ideal candidate will be a team-player who enjoys a hands-on role and working closely with clients, with solid engineering and people management experience. You will have strong knowledge and experience within the Heavy Minerals mining and minerals processing sector.
 
You will have:

• 10+ years' relevant experience
• A relevant technical bachelor degree or masters in Mechanical Engineering
• Experience working on mineral sands or other commodities essential
• Ability to design complex mechanical equipment
• Strong communication and client management skills
• Experience in EPC contracting
• The ability to draw and interpret complex designs
• High attention to detail and strong analytical skills
• A hands-on approach, initiative and a drive for business growth
• Great rapport and relationship building abilities
• A flair for process and system improvement
• A current drivers licence and Australian working rights (Australian or NZ Citizenship or Permanent Residency)
• Previous operational experience will be highly regarded
