Role Details
Gold Fields Australia is currently seeking a Technician: Electrical to join their Mining department at Granny Smith Gold Mine
Reporting to the Coordinator: Electrical, you will be responsible for performing Electrical Maintenance of Underground & Surface Infrastructure, installing new & extending existing Infrastructure and attending to breakdowns of all electrical equipment within the mining area.
This role is offered on an 8 days on 6 days off roster, 7 nights on and 7 nights off and is Fly in Fly out from Perth.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Always act in a manner that seeks to enhance the safety culture and performance of GFA and ensures that the Vital Behaviours are adhered to at all times.
- Ensure that the company has the capacity to achieve Zero Harm by actively identifying and reporting hazards using the sites hazard reporting system
- Routine inspections of machinery and fixed plant and carry out preventive measures and condition reporting
- Fault-finding, diagnosis, repair and maintenance of the electrical and instrumentation components of process equipment
- Installation of Electrical Infrastructure in accordance to site standards and Statutory Regulations.
- Commissioning and decommissioning of equipment and machinery.
- HV switching of 33 & 11kV ring mains.
- Enter all preventive maintenance and repairs to equipment record in SAP
- Training of apprentices
- Ability to work unsupervised and in a team environment.
Key factors to your success include:
- Trade qualifications as Electrical Fitter/Mechanic
- WA “A” Class Electrical Workers Licence
- EWP, Working at Heights and HV Switching tickets are all a MUST!
- Current C Class Driver’s License
- St Johns Apply First Aid certificate is desirable
- Instrumentation experience would be an asset
- Previous mining, maintenance and fault finding experience would be advantageous
