The Production Planner/Scheduler ensures all Maintenance activities are planned and scheduled correctly so there is minimum interruption to the Processing Plant. In addition, the purpose of this residential role is to ensure that the work progresses on schedule in a safe and efficient manner.

Key Accountabilities include:

  • Provide input in the development of the rolling maintenance plan for the area, and have this ready each week tasks and approve work orders for corrective work.
  • Coordinate and assist Mineral Processing as required, ensuring isolations and Permit of Isolations are checked and audited to provide adequate safety in regards to isolations, permits and HOP's.
  • Plan, prepare and execute non-routine Operational Tasks safely and in challenging time constraints.
  • Prepare isolation permits for major and minor plant and equipment outages to ensure Hazardous Energy Isolations are identified and documented prior to maintenance activities.
  • Work on Plant/Process improvement projects as part of a multi discipline team.
  • Ensure that all incidents and accidents are reported and are followed up correctly to minimise and manage risk and attend investigations where required, ensuring that the Occupational Health and Safety Act is complied with at all times.
  • Assist in scheduling all routine maintenance activities (work orders) in consultation with Maintenance including ensuring all information, materials and equipment are coordinated. Review and confirm the scope and urgency of requested P1 (priority 1- urgent work) and P2 (priority 2 - within 5 days) maintenance work submitted.
  • Ensure that shared resources are not overloaded by working with the other schedulers.
  • Ensure that all routine maintenance and operational activities, and those corrective maintenance activities able to be scheduled at a later time (non-breakdown), are loaded into a weekly schedule (or plan) that is adequately resourced with an appropriate allowance
  • Attend the weekly review/planning meeting (with Supervisors) - to review backlog and KPI's. In addition review the upcoming weekly work plan.
  • Liaise and notify the Reliability team of any issues relating to asset strategy and condition monitoring.
  • Be the site wide Hazardous Energy Isolation champion to lead, coach and mentor others in the minimum Isolation standard accepted within KCGM as per the KCGM Critical Standard.

Requirements


Essential

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in mineral processing unit operations with a demonstrated ability to improve process systems utilising best practice techniques.
  • Advanced planning and organisational skills contributing excellent time management and prioritisation of tasks.
  • Highly developed communication skills with importance placed on active listening to effectively assess team members and adapt training accordingly to ensure all outcomes are achieved.
  • Ability to work in a self-paced and self-managed structure.
  • Intermediate computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Office suite.
  • National Police Clearance within twelve (12) months of age
  • Must reside within the Goldfields region, or willing to relocate at own cos
  • Current Unencumbered Western Australian ‘C' Class Drivers Licence.

Preferred

  • Metalliferous Mining, Mechanical or Electrical qualifications, or study thereto.
