Saracen Mineral Holdings (ASX:SAR) is an ASX listed gold producer with its core assets located in world class gold provinces in Western Australia. Saracen has produced over 1,000,000 ounces at its Carosue Dam Operations located 120km NE of Kalgoorlie since operations commenced in 2010. Saracen acquired the Thunderbox Operations in January 2014 and now boasts over 9 million ounces of resources and 2.1 million ounces of reserves, with a combined milling capacity of 5.0 million tonnes per annum.
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Mining Supervisor to be based at our Thunderbox Operations located 45km south of Leinster, WA.
Working on a 15 shifts on 13 days off roster you will report to the Mining Superintendent and your main areas of responsibilities will include;
- Supervise and coordinate surface mining activities of workers engaged in surface mining
- Ensure continuous open pit production in order to supply site processing plant with ore requirements
- Ensure adherence to all statutory requirements and company safety, Health & Environmental standard and procedures
- Ensure production and budget requirements are met
- Liaise and plan with drill and blast to ensure schedules are achieved
- Liaise and plan with workshop to maximise plan availability
- Carry out any additional job tasks allocated by the Mining Superintendent
Skills and experience:
- Minimum 5 years’ hands on experience in the mining industry
- HR Drivers Licence
- Current First Aid qualification
- Restricted Quarry Managers Certificate (Highly regarded)
- Ability to operate most mobile machinery
- Proven supervisory experience and team leadership skills
- Sound analytical/problem solving ability
- Excellent planning and organising skills
