Blackham Resources, an ASX listed Australian gold producer (ASX: BLK), owns and operates the Matilda Gold Operation located close to the town of Wiluna, approximately 1,000km northeast of Perth.
The operation comprises over 1,000 square kilometres of tenements containing total JORC resources of 65Mt @ 3.1 g/t for 6.5Moz of gold. These tenements cover around 55 kilometres of strike along the Wiluna Mine Sequence and 10 kilometres of strike along the Coles Find Shear.
All the deposits are within 20 kilometres of Blackham's Wiluna Gold Plant. Exploration prospects at Lake Way, Carroll, Prior, Mentelle and Monarch, provide the company with excellent potential for future resource growth.
Blackham is currently looking to bring online multiple new pits targeting the oxide reserves. To ensure the successful delivery of these pits, the Company is looking to appoint a highly driven and technically competent Project Coordinator. Reporting to the Open Pit Mining Manager, the position will be responsible for ensuring plans are effectively communicated, and infrastructure and resources are in place to ensure new pits are delivered on time and within budget.
Key areas of responsibility will include:
- Liaise with the geology department to ensure the effective monitoring and coordination of grade control drill programmes
- Liaise with mine planning teams to ensure plans and schedules are in place and communicated
- Assist with completing the mining proposal
- Manage tendering and contractor appointment
- Establishing site infrastructure
- Relocating infrastructure in preparation for mining e.g. core farm, powerlines
- Dewatering pits
- Design of ore and waste dumps
- Liaison with permitting agencies
- Coordination of Cell J third lift
To be considered the successful candidate must demonstrate:
- Tertiary qualifications in Mining engineering, Geology or a related discipline
- Sound Project Management experience related to mining
- Ability to think days, weeks and months ahead in setting tactical plans
- Technical expertise, enabling the ability to marry the longer term schedule requirements into a short term detailed schedule
- Open pit start-up experience (selective mining environments preferred)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling you to coordinate and drive outcomes across a multidisciplinary team
- The energy and authority to drive activities on multiple fronts
- An availability and a willingness to be on site as required
Salary & Conditions
The position is offered on an initial 6 month contract with scope to become permanent.
Salary will be negotiated dependent on experience and in-line with market expectations.
The position operates a FIFO rotation from Perth to the mine site, however regular site travel for extended periods will be required to ensure project demands are met.
