Due to the continued success and expansion of our Northern Rise business we are seeking an experienced Village Manager.

The role will be offered on a FIFO roster of 2/1 ex Darwin and will attract a very competitive remuneration.

 

The Purpose of Your Role

To provide effective management procedures to all aspects of the scope of works within the service agreement that Northern Rise Villages Services has established with the relevant client. To monitor and ensure that all key performance indicators within the site scope are achieved with the highest achievable quality and within the Northern Rise Village Services budget appropriate to the applicable village or site. To ensure the provision of a safe environment for residents, visitors and employees through a sound knowledge of occupational health and safety requirements relevant to mine site village facilities. To ensure the practical application of security, risk management principles and practices within the Northern Rise Villages.

 

‘What you have to do’

This is a general scope of duties for the position of Project Manager and duties may vary across operations. The position of Project Manager can include (but not limited to) any of the duties listed below:

 

  • Observe a high standard of personal hygiene and presentation for work. Ensure the issued uniforms are worn and required personal protective equipment (PPE) is carried at all times. Smoking shall not be permitted whilst on duty.
  • Ensure that conduct is in a professional manner at all times in dealing with village residents, visitors, village staff and company personnel.
  • Ensure that contact is maintained with the village administration office at all times (carry radio communication) or mobile communication.
  • To ensure a comprehensive understanding of the site specific scope of works to ensure that contractual requirements are meet with the highest level of quality.
  • All licenced areas of the site are compliant with relevant legislation, licencing laws and contractual requirements.
  • To ensure that the maintenance of the core business is at a continual high standard.
  • To ensure that the daily kitchen and food preparation practices are in line with current food safety standards are to the specifics of the scope of works in the range and variety of food cooked and displayed.
  • To plan, manage and operate a computerised accommodation system for up too and including 1000 people.
  • To continually encourage and develop the workforce performance in line with the Northern Rise Village Services long term development, training matrix and mentoring opportunities.
  • Conduct performance reviews.
  • To ensure compliance with all with all Northern Rise Village Services company procedures and operational strategies and instructions.
  • Provide after hour’s emergency contact for the village residents, personnel and visitors.
  • Ensure that radio or mobile phone communication is always carried.
  • To ensure that all of Northern Rise Village Services company goods, chattels and equipment on site including monies are controlled and secured.
  • To ensure that all cleaning processes meet the standards required of Northern Rise Village Services.
  • To ensure the company vehicles are in a roadworthy, clean and safe condition at all times.
  • To ensure that the daily reconciliation of the tavern and ATM facilities are a part of daily operations and all monies reconciled on the day of trade.
  • Where applicable the maintenance of the grounds is keep to a high standard, plan and implement accommodation maintenance.
  • To correctly complete all operational reporting documents in an accurate and timely manner and to ensure that all departments are timely and accurate in the information forwarded in direct relation to audits, stocktakes, stock control and levels.
  • To ensure that the image of Northern Rise Village Services is strong in direct relation to all clients.
  • Prompt attendance to all meetings at site and head office level.
  • Following all health and safety instructions or advice from the Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) department, to use and wear the required PPE, report all work hazards and work related injuries within the required timelines.
  • Maintain a high level of communication with all Northern Rise Village Services employees.
  • Assure that all disciplinary action follows Northern Rise Village Services policies and procedures and provides all employees with access to these policies and procedures.

 Occupational Health and Safety Responsibilities

  • Adhere to all regulatory, company and client-driven safety policies and procedures
  • Stop any work activity or process that demonstrates potential harm to the well-being and safety of any person or property
  • Participate in all company and client-driven OHS programs when available
  • Participation in company and client-driven activities, drills, pre-job starts, meetings and pre-use equipment inspections
  • Consistent access and review of regulatory, company and client-driven OHS manuals, policies and procedures
  • Report any incidents, near misses, procedure deficiencies and poor working conditions.
  • Dedication and promotion of a safe working environment throughout the workplace.
  • Completion of training and can demonstrate competency to operate the required equipment in accordance with their job duties.
  • Work in a safe and professional manner at all times including attitude and dedication to their work assignment.

 Environmental Responsibilities

  • Conduct duties in a manner that comply with the business’ Environmental Policy and procedures.
  • Minimise the use and waste of materials and resources including: energy, water and consumables.
  • Prevent the release of pollutants into the atmosphere, into the land or into the water (surface or ground) – includes smoke, storm water, chemicals, oils and any other pollutants.
  • Dispose of wastes appropriately, utilising waste management programs where they are available.
  • Utilise pre-start meetings, toolbox talks and other training sessions as tools for effective communication.
  • Participate in environmental programs, as directed by the Project Manager, willingly and with enthusiasm.
  • Identify and report any environmental hazard / incident / improvement to direct supervisor or manager in a timely manner.

 Quality Assurance Responsibilities

  • Dedication to and the promotion of continual improvements within the business system and its maintenance at site level.
  • Ensure that all employees are competently trained in all aspects of their individual positions.
  • To ensure that the food standards at site are compliant and in line with HACCP plans, Critical Point Control (CCP) and all records and schedules are complaint within the management system.

 Knowledge, Skills and Experience Needed to Perform This Role

  • Ability to multi-task and organize an ever changing and diverse workload.

  • Sound knowledge of SDS sheets and safe use of chemicals.
  • Strong knowledge of manual handling techniques.
  • A positive attitude toward providing excellent customer services.
