We now have an exciting opportunity available for a Planned Maintenance Supervisor to join our Network Operations team in Kidman Park, SA on a full time, permanent basis.

Reporting to the State Operations Manager you will play a key role in managing and driving the planned maintenance activities and Network critical activities including hot tap, stopple and metering. On a day to day basis, your responsibilities will include:

• Organising the maintenance activities on the gas assets within the various SA operated Gas Networks to ensure that the Network operates in a safe, efficient & effective manner.
• Management of the direct labour and contractors who carry out this work;
• Management of Spare Parts and procurement of parts for Pipeline facilities
• Ensuring condition of the Various Network Gas asset is in accordance with the applicable Australian standards
• Overseeing performance of employees and their activities in accordance with APA Performance Management protocols.
• Optimise planning and scheduling to ensure APA is maximising staff resources
• Review costs and monitor project numbers to ensure cost are appropriately assigned
• Manage a team and contribute to BU response to issues and emergencies.
• Identify and develop solutions to systemic issues related to past practices, materials & technologies
• Emergency Response activities such as First response backup, Pressure Control, Hot Tap and Stopple activities
• Overall management of the Planned Maintenance Function including scheduling, reporting, performance management, and maintenance of assets.

To excel in this position you will have the following skills, experience, qualifications and attributes:

• Demonstrated experience in leading, mentoring and driving a team of employees to perform the tasks required within Gas Pipeline or similar Field Operations environments
• A background in a Mechanical trade or Engineering Qualification (or equivalent relevant work experience in the same)
• Experience in Network Operations and technical knowledge of pressure and safety devices installed on a gas network (such as relief valves, regulators, valve, meters and other network systems)
• Emergency Management experience
• Strong commitment to safety and compliance, and an empathic approach to people management
• The ability to remain calm under pressure with a structured approach
• The ability to demonstrate credibility and confidence across the business
