Electrical Control Systems Engineer
Cloudbreak, 8:6 roster

Key accountabilities will include:

  • Undertakes development and maintenance of advanced control systems as it applies to the FMG Cloudbreak OPF;
  • Assists in the training of operating personnel to ensure effective usage of the systems;
  • Solves system problems and troubleshoot process control issues;
  • Support analysis where process deviations have occurred and identify opportunities for improvement;
  • Ensure the Change Management Process is applied where applicable;
  • Work with stakeholders to prioritise work fronts and complete process control system deliverables;
  • Ensure compliance to all relevant legislation;
  • Seek opportunities for cost reduction activities;
  • Ensures documentation of relevant process control applications and procedures are maintained;
  • Monitor and manage process control system Key Performance Indicators;
  • Utilise risk management processes that can be used to identify, review and rank risks associated with the business's hazards and statutory obligations;
  • Demonstrate an overriding commitment to health, safety, environmental responsibility and sustainable development;
  • Drive for business improvement in all aspects of business performance.

 

Qualifications and skills required:

  • Bachelor Degree and/or relevant Australian Certification in Process Control/Electrical/Instrumentation/Process Engineering or Production and Processing as required;
  • Considerable experience in engineering, implementation and commissioning of fixed plant control systems
  • Proficient in GE RX3i, Allen Bradley and Siemens PLC’s
  • Proficient in programming GE Proficy Machine Edition, RS Logix 500/5000 and Siemens Step 7
  • Proficient in GE Proficy CIMPLICITY, Change Management, Historian, CSense, Process +, Siemens WinCC
  • Communications (Profibus DP / PA, Profinet, Ethernet, DeviceNet, Modbus, EGD)
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
  • Good understanding of instrumentation and control communication networks and protocols (Moxa Turbo Ring, Cisco, VLAN)
