Role responsibilities:

•  Work as part of a team to provide electrical and control system engineering and design solutions of upgrades, modifications and new installations for the process plant and associated mine infrastructure and ensure all works are compliant with site and PNG standards/specifications
• Effectively communicate day-to-day issues with the Lead Electrical Engineer and with other departments and work groups to develop good working relationships, report regularly on project progress.
•  Inspect completed installations, provide commissioning support and observe operations, to ensure conformance to design and equipment specifications and compliance with operational and safety standards.
• Prepare and study technical drawings, specifications of electrical and control systems, to ensure that installation and operations conform to standards and customer requirements
• Prepare estimates by liaising with plant personnel, contractors and government organisations if necessary for design parameters and requirements.
• Operate computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform engineering tasks.
•  Perform detailed calculations for electrical design
• solutions.
•  Prepare specifications for purchase of materials and equipment
• Provide assistance and mentoring for other engineers and graduates.

Essential Skills:

• Electrical Engineering Qualifications and other suitable qualifications fit for position.
•  A minimum of 5 years experience as an Electrical Engineer in a mining or industrial environment.
•  Well developed interpersonal, written and oral communication skills in English.
•  Experience in detailed electrical engineering design
•  Electrical commissioning experience
