About the opportunity

We are seeking an experienced engineering professional to join the team as a Capital Program Manager to provide technical direction and leadership for the Kwinana Refinery capital program.

The Capital Program Manager (CPM) will lead a team of engineering professionals in providing the safe and successful delivery of engineering projects and services. This position is accountable for the Capital Program delivery and includes Capital Budget planning, project Front End Loading (FEL) development, capital expenditure approvals, project planning, and execution, project contracting strategies, project contractor safety management (through the Contractor and Maintenance Services Manager), project implementation, dry commissioning and project closure.

About you

To be successful in this role and to play a part in our ongoing success you will need to build strong and effective relationships with the Refinery leadership team, Engineering Service Providers’ leadership and other key stakeholders involved in project delivery to ensure that the customers’ requirements are anticipated and achieved. Along with this will be ensuring the project governance and reporting integrity is maintained to support successful project implementation.

You will have extensive experience in an engineering field along with project management and delivery experience, Capital Program or Portfolio management experience would be valuable for this role.  Ideally you will have wide-ranging experience in the alumina or heavy industry.

Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills coupled to previous engineering management or supervisory experience is required, along with business and customer focus perspective and an appreciation of engineering alliance type relationships.

An Engineering Degree (Mechanical / Electrical / Structural / Civil) is required, Post Graduate Business or project management studies would be highly regarded.

Kwinana Alumina Refinery is located 40 kilometres south of Perth in the Kwinana Industrial Area. It is a major employer in the area with approximately 870 employees. An estimated 55 per cent of employees live in the neighbouring communities of Kwinana, Cockburn and Rockingham.
