Wood is seeking applications from experienced Permit to Work Lead’s to support the Kemerton Lithium project based initially in our Perth Office and later onsite.

The Albemarle Kemerton Plant is a world scale, greenfield Lithium Hydroxide Monohydrate production plant to be located at the Kemerton Strategic Industrial Area approximately 160 km south of Perth, Western Australia, and 17 km north-east of the existing port town of Bunbury.

The Albemarle Kemerton Plant will initially comprise of three (3) trains, each producing 20,000 tonnes per annum (tpa) Lithium Hydroxide Monohydrate. First product target by 2020. Expansion to five (5) trains will take the ultimate site production to 100,000 tpa by around 2025. Wood has been appointed by Albemarle to implement the Albemarle Kemerton Plant.

Responsibilities

Working for the EPCM and reporting to the HSSE Manager the Permit to Work Lead will be responsible for managing the following:

  • Implementation and day to day operation of the project Permit to Work system for all construction activities.
  • Facilitation of permit meetings; ensuring all permits are completed and issued with required supporting documentation; tracking of permits from creation to close out;
  • Maintaining applicable hard and soft copy records and managing the permit log; and overseeing all other activities relating to PTW’s.
  • Ensuring all activities are undertaken in accordance with the applicable project and company procedures.

Skills / Qualification

  • A demonstrated knowledge and experience of the implementation and use of Permit to Work systems in the Australian Construction industry.
  • Additionally, you will be able to demonstrate an electrical or mechanical background and an understanding of the issues that can present themselves in an active construction site and appropriate mitigation actions as appropriate to a permit to work system.
  • Current Confined Space and Working at Heights tickets.
  • Excellent communication skills to implement, drive and coordinate the PTW process
