The Consolidated Minerals Group (ConsMin) was acquired in May 2017 by Ningxia Tianyuan Manganese Industry Co (TMI), a world leading manufacturer of electrolytic manganese metals, based in China.

ConsMin is recognised as one of the world’s leading manganese producers and has operating mines in Australia and Ghana. ConsMin’s Pilbara based Woodie Mine site resumed mining in October 2017 following a period of care and maintenance.

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Heavy Duty Fitter to join the Mobile Maintenance team at our Woodie Manganese Operation, situated 407kms south - east of Port Hedland in the Pilbara.

Reporting to the workshop supervisor, the successful applicant will be required:

• Conduct workshop maintenance including diagnosing mechanical faults, overhauling, repairing mechanical parts in mobile plant equipment.
• Studying drawings and specifications to determine suitable material, method and sequence of operations, and machine settings in fluid power equipment.
• Fitting fabricated metal parts into products and assembling metal parts and subassemblies to produce machines and equipment.
• Checking fabricated and assembled metal parts for accuracy, clearance and fit using precision measuring instruments.
• Erecting machines and equipment on-site.
• Repairing or replacing worn or defective parts, and reassembling mechanical components.
• Maintaining equipment to company and OEM specifications to ensure reliable operation.
• Conducting workshop maintenance and maintaining high housekeeping standards in work areas.
• Diagnosing and repairing machines/equipment in both a workshop and field environment.
• Diagnose and repair electrical systems when required.
• Maintain company Mining Fleet which consists of predominantly Cat and Komatsu equipment.
• Ensure safe working practises and good housekeeping.
• Work independently as well as part of the Mobile Maintenance team as well as Liaising with other workshop personnel to complete tasks.

Skills and experience required to be successful in this role:

• Ability to understand and interpret OEM manuals and hydraulic/ pneumatic;
• Trade qualified mobile plant fitter – Heavy;
• Minimum 3 years mine site experience in a Heavy-Duty Fitter role;
• Product knowledge of Komatsu & Cat equipment;
• Excellent organisational and communication skills;
• Current C drivers licence essential;
• Air Conditioning Ticket advantageous;
