Permanent full-time role being offered on a 8:6 roster flying in and out of Perth!
Your new company
This global mining company have a number of projects around Australia and they have just acquired a huge operation, located in Leonara, Western Australia. Comprising of copper-zinc-silver underground mines, a processing plant and an exploration team; for which they need a Senior Exploration Geologist.
Your new role
Reporting to the Exploration Manager, you’re duties will include but are not limited to the following:
- Efficiently planning, designing and executing exploration programs;
- Providing technical direction as well as mentoring and supporting geological and field staff;
- Completing statutory technical reporting and monthly reporting;
- Monitoring and reporting on QA/QC processes and results, taking action to correct irregularities;
- Drill rig supervision - ensuring requirements of the operation are met
- RC percussion chip and diamond drill core logging;
- Maintain and build a positive safety culture on site.
What you'll need to succeed
Essential
- A tertiary qualification, preferably with Honours in Geology or Geoscience
- You will have well-established knowledge of base metals and demonstrated experience working with VMS style deposits
- Previous project planning and management skills in exploration
- Previous supervisory experience, with exceptional report writing and communication skills
- Proficient in the targeting and supervision of drilling programs
- High level of computer literacy - skilled in geostatistical software’s
- Current senior first aid certificate
- Current C class Australian drivers licence
- Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and a drug and alcohol test
