Location: Cameby Downs Mine, Qld
Position Overview
The position is responsible for supporting the timely maintenance and repair of heavy coal mining equipment, to maintain a safe and productive fleet. Equipment includes, but is not limited to, dump trucks, loaders, excavators, water trucks, and graders.
The roster involves working 7 on 7 off, day shift only.
The mine is located within 30 minutes of the agricultural towns of Chinchilla and Miles in the Surat Basin, and within 4 hours of Brisbane.
Skills
- Good communication skills.
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Word.
- Skilled in hazard identification.
- Good problem solving skills.
- Ability to exercise initiative and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Experience/Knowledge
- Previous experience in the maintenance and repair of heavy equipment in a mining or heavy industry environment.
- Experience in monitoring, identifying and rectifying potential issues with heavy equipment.
- Knowledge of and responsive to workplace safety issues.
Qualifications
Essential
- Relevant mechanical trade qualification.
- Current open manual driver’s licence.
Desirable
- Current Standard 11 Mine Induction (Surface).
- RII tickets/licences for operating trucks and other heavy machinery.
- RII Service mine plant and equipment.
- RII Test operational functions of vehicles and equipment.
- Elevated Work Platform greater than 11 meters
- Working at Heights
