Operations Supervisor
NEMMS JV is a well-established Indigenous Mining & Civil Contractor, operating throughout Western Australia, with a focus on the Pilbara Region. We are a client focused organisation with a strong track record in the successful delivery of contracts in mining, civil and bulk handling projects.
We are currently seeking applications for an Operations Supervisor at our Dampier Site. The successful candidate will have solid operational experience in a load and haul and production environment. Reporting to the Project Manager, the Operations Supervisor will provide high level supervision and safety leadership to the work crew, whilst engaging with the client regularly.
Position responsibilities include, but not limited to:
- Assist the Project Manager to set reasonable objectives for teams and provide performance feedback and support;
- Assist the Project Manager in the development and execution of the Production Schedule;
- Take accountability and coordinate the execution of the project activities;
- Interface with the client on operational and safety performance issues;
- Coach and support the teams to ensure they safely achieve operational requirements;
- Ensure all safe work practices are followed at all times;
- Liaise with key internal and external stakeholder and clients, developing strong working relationships;
- Actively participate in collaborative meetings including pre-start, toolbox feedback and group safety involvement;
- Enforce rigorous compliance to Zero Harm principles on a daily basis;
- Understand and Improve targets and plans in support of the operations team;
- Ensure the continual review of the weekly operations plan, cascading its goals to daily performance targets.
Essential Criteria:
- Over 5 years operating experience with 1 years direct experience in leading project operational crews;
- Cert III qualifications in a related mining operations, with experience in contact mining or civil engineering, or in related industries;
- Experience in operational productivity improvement;
- Developed communication skills with the proven ability to build strong interpersonal relationships;
- Demonstrated leadership skill, to empower the operational crews towards the objectives set.
