The most prominent of the Harsco Metals interests in Australia is located at the Liberty OneSteel Plant in Whyalla, South Australia. The services provided include: slag management, metal recovery, scrap processing, scarfing, slab slitting and semi finished product handling including thermal diffusion processing, product tracking and inventory management.
The Harsco Metals Whyalla site is a 24/7 operation and employing a substantial workforce with plans to expand its operations within the South Australian region. In light of this we are currently seeking the services of a Diesel Mechanic/Fitter.
About the role
The successful applicants will join a team of maintenance personnel in our well-equipped workshop maintaining both Heavy Mobile Equipment (unique to the operation) and Fixed Plant to ensure the customer is provided with a service which ensures and enhances their requirements for the production of steel.
The appointment may require some shift rosters to be worked along with overtime as dictated by plant and customer requirements.
Skills and experience
You will have, at minimum, relevant trade qualifications as a Diesel Mechanic or Diesel Fitter with experience in working with heavy mobile equipment. Applicant must have minimum 1-year post trade experience within a similar industry.
