About the role
 

We are currently seeking applications for a Site Supervisor vacancy at our Mangoola site operations in the Hunter Valley. The primary purpose of the role will be to manage the onsite operations team, associated products, their distribution and overall on-site blast related operations in order to meet both Orica standards and surpass client expectations. This position will report into the the Territory Manager and will work on a Monday to Friday roster. It is expected that the successful candidate lives within a commutable distance from the Mangoola site.
 

What you will be doing
 

  • Driving a safe focused work culture where people are encouraged to speak up about risks;
  • All aspects of managing a team of Orica personnel; 
  • Managing our fixed plant assets and mobile equipment;
  • Managing and driving training plans and developing staff in Orica’s operational procedures and standards;
  • Managing logistics of raw materials to site;
  • Key point of contact for customer relationships (customer Supervisors, Superintendents and Managers)
     

What you will bring
 

  • Front line operational experience with the desire to develop, influence and motivate a team of operational staff;
  • Exposure to working and leading a specialist blast crew (not essential);
  • Previous exposure assisting with fleet management, fixed assets, mobile plant operations and fixed cost management;
  • Ability to conduct safety investigations;
  • Commitment to partnering with customers and your team; always accountability for your actions;
  • A mind-set that always looks for better ways to deliver;
  • Capability to manage budgets and reporting;
  • Mechanical and Maintenance aptitude and experience (desirable).
