Mining Technical Systems Specialist – Brisbane Corporate Office
The purpose of Global Information Management (IM) is to enable the delivery of business processes, communication, collaboration and knowledge management through the deployment, support and maintenance of enterprise technology, infrastructure, applications and mine technical systems.
As the Mining Technical Systems Specialist reporting to the IM Technical Systems Manager, you will ensure that the relevant business strategies around opencast and underground metallurgical Coal mining technologies are enabled and managed. This will be achieved through a partnership with business and appropriate collaboration to ensure alignment to company standards and strategy.
Ideally you will have specific knowledge and experience in the IM field, controls and risk mitigation, Mining practices and the mining value chain, the IM Regional systems, Business Unit plans and initiatives and Operating model methodology.
Responsibilities:
- make recommendation to process stakeholders on process improvements
- analyse and identify risk root causes and quantify potential business impact
- implement solutions to reduce level of exposure and risk
- interpret policy and explain why work needs to be completed in a particular manner
- explain how a particular process task needs to be fulfilled
- engage with key stakeholders and understand their process requirements
- assign and re-assign work to ensure outputs and the elimination of waste
- participate in Regional initiatives and the different processes involved
- perform continuous monitoring reviews to make sure that the process aligns to the overall systems
You will possess a Bachelors degree or equivalent in the relevant IM Discipline or an undergraduate qualification (Bachelors degree or equivalent) in Mining, electrical or Mechanical engineering.
