The Opportunity – Specialist Engineer Coal Clearance

Based at the Innovation Campus, the purpose of the Specialist Engineer Coal Clearance is to provide leadership and direction for the execution of mine services activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure maintenance activities on the gas plant, associated equipment and utilities are safely executed to plans and specified standards
• Manage the execution of small maintenance coal clearance projects within specified area across all shifts
• Ensures quality control of Maintenance Execution coal clearance activities of their specified area
• Reviews coal clearance Incident Notifications and ensures that escalation protocols are complied with
• Ensure systems for coal clearance stores and spares management are followed and enforce a discipline around using 1SAP for       booking equipment items
• Provide technical support to coal clearance shift teams for resolution of root cause analysis within their area of expertise
• Ensure coal clearance critical controls are in place for the identified material risks within the maintenance function.
• Helps with long term coal clearance equipment strategies
• Conduct engineering coal clearance design improvements
• Conduct coal clearance root cause analysis investigation on equipment failure
• Provide major coal clearance breakdown and overhaul support
• Audit standards of coal clearance equipment and equipment integrity

Location

Illawarra Coal operations are located in the southern coalfields of New South Wales, near the city of Wollongong and approximately 75 kilometres south and southwest of Sydney.
