About the role
We are currently seeking applications for an experienced Training Specialist to join the team at our North Goonyella Coal (NGC) Mine. NGC is an underground longwall mine located 160 kilometers west of Mackay producing a premium quality, high strength coking coal for export markets.

Reporting to the Health, Safety & Training Manager, you will be responsible for the effective training function and systems at North Goonyella. You will be part of a small but dynamic HST team championing a strong safety and training culture.

Duties will include:

• Ensure the onsite training systems are maintained to a high level of accuracy, are reliable and functional in both the site access requirements and contractor management processes
• Oversee the site induction process, site training calendar and designated training days
• Ensure available training courses align with the Training Needs Analysis outlined in Training Scheme
• Maintain Training Function documentation (training documentations, forms and packages)
• Implement and track approved Safety and/or Training Project as required
• Provide monthly reporting requirements associated with the training function
• Manage the service, cost and flexibility of RTOs to ensure value for money for our outsourced training requirements
• Provide training information to site personnel
• Participate and lead internal auditing activities associated with the Safety, Health and Training function
• Maintain and ensure compliance with the site Training Scheme
• Management of site and statutory appointments
• Support the HST team as required

The lifestyle:
This position is offered on a Monday - Friday (9 day fortnight) roster. Camp accommodation or accommodation assistance will be provided to candidates who wish to reside locally, allowing for a residential, DIDO or FIFO lifestyle.

About You:

• Extensive experience in training, including training schemes, systems and processes
• A thorough understanding of underground coal mining
• TAE16 (Cert IV) qualification is essential for this role
• Proven ability to plan, prioritise and coordinate activities
• Strong communications skills (both written and verbal) and ability to build strong relationships at all levels
• Uncompromising commitment to safety
• Positive, Can Do Attitude
