Service Technician – Weighing & Measuring

SRO Technology are a market leader in the weighing and measuring industry, with many year's experience in provision of instrument applications including problem solving, repair, sales and service in various industries.

Due to growth and expansion we are seeking Service Technician/s to join our team.

Reporting to the Service Manager the purpose of this position is to provide a high level of customer service and technical support to our customers during programmed maintenance, breakdown situations, and new projects.

Job tasks will include but are not limited to:

  • Installation and commissioning of new instrumentation (predominantly weighing and measuring)
  • Maintenance and repair of electrical and mechanical equipment
  • Assisting in the development of "scopes of work" for programmed maintenance
  • Training of customers' personnel in the operation of installed instruments
  • Preparing accurate reports on daily service activities
  • Providing systematic audits on equipment as scheduled
  • Undertaking workshop based assembly, production, and refurbishment

 

The successful candidate will be someone that is looking for a long term career and shows a lot of the qualities below:

  • Display positive attitude, energy and flexibility toward business growth and change
  • Have experience with weighing and measuring instrumentation – experience with Beltweighers, Metal Detectors, Density Gauges and/or holding an NMI license are all advantageous
  • Experienced Electrical Tradesperson or someone with similar background is desirable
  • Demonstrate strong electro/mechanical aptitude with maintenance and troubleshooting experience
  • Have strong interpersonal skills with an ability to effectively communicate with internal and external personnel, present a competent, responsible and "solution" orientated attitude
  • Display a commitment to compliance with contractual obligations and safe work practices
  • Have experience in a workshop and knowledge of assembly and manufacturing techniques
  • Demonstrate a working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
  • Have a reasonable understanding of mathematics, ability to understand and perform simple algebra and trigonometry

 

Challenges

Travel to remote sites (including overseas) is a core component of this role and will require regular travel for multiple days at a time. The role is physically and mentally demanding at times and requires an ability to work well under pressure whether it be autonomously or as part of a team.
