The Company:

Our client MM Electrical Merchandising (MMEM) is the leading distributor of electrical and data components and equipment in Australia. With a national branch footprint of over 250 stores, operating brands include AWM, Haymans, TLE and D&W, their success is a result of an ability to build strong customer relationships, demonstrate industry knowledge and provide a high level of service.
 
With continued success and expansion, MMEM are seeking highly motivated and ambitious individual with proven experience in sales, business development and the electrical wholesale industry, to take on a Business Manager position.
  
The Role:

The Business Manager role is a true leadership position, responsible for the business plan, overall sales, and operations of an electrical wholesale business. Training and support will be provided to equip you with an intimate understanding of the business' core functions, operations and processes.
  
Reporting to the Regional General Manager, responsibilities include:
  • Developing and implementing business, product and sales strategies to grow revenue and market share
  • Effectively and efficiently managing systems and procedures for monitoring, controlling and communicating performance of the business and key account customers against budgets and forecasts
  • Managing and negotiating key customer accounts
  • Developing strong customer relationships
  • Maintaining extensive knowledge of the company's products and services
  • Leading, training and developing your team members
  • Conducting regular reviews of price and performance
  • Negotiating with suppliers on product rationalisation and pricing
Essential Criteria:

To be successful, you will be a confident and strong leader with an aptitude for maximising sales performance, profit and market share growth, in a dynamic customer service environment.
 
You will have:
  • Strong knowledge of the Electrical Wholesale market
  • Exceptional customer focus and a flair for sales/business development
  • Outstanding leadership, presentation and communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to drive relationships with customers
  • Strong analytical skills with a proven ability to retain technical product knowledge
  • Outstanding time management and organisational skills
  • Vision, drive and the ability to think outside the square
  • Strong computer and data analysis skills, including the use of Microsoft Office, databases, analysis tools, etc.
  • Excellent numeracy skills to be able to calculate price negotiations
  • Strong conflict resolution and negotiation skills
  • A proven track record of leading a team
