Our client is a specialist vegetable seeds company. They supply commercial growers with a broad range of vegetable seeds and technical advice. Agricultural market leaders having grown consistently over the years, they have leading international breeding companies as their key suppliers. Their high-quality seeds have high purity and germination rates trialled under local conditions, so they reliably perform.
After many years of service, the incumbent will be moving aside, however, remaining in the business. Reporting to the Managing Director, there is now the requirement for a Technical Manager to join the Head Office team based in Sydney. You will be responsible for leading the ongoing trialling, development and launch of new vegetable seed products across Australia with input into NZ. This involves managing and reporting on an annual trial program. You will have 2 Product Development Managers reporting in. There will be travel (5 international trips p.a) with regular visits to clients and suppliers.
To be successful in this role you will ideally have:
- Technical experience in the vegetable seed industry
- Strong report writing skills with accuracy/attention to detail
- High level communication skills
- Sound knowledge of agronomy
- Relevant tertiary qualifications
