Style State is one of Australia's leading online fashion wholesalers with a reputable and long established heritage of over 28 years, our label embodies a fashion forward, feminine and sophisticated sense of style ranging from day to night pieces to statement party dresses.
With over 800 stockists both Australia wide and internationally, we are currently seeking a buyer/product developer to join our team to source and develop garments with a youthful and trend driven aesthetic that fit seamlessly into the Style State brand.
The position is available for full time only, located at our showroom office in Collingwood, the heart of the fashion wholesale industry.

Role Requirements:
- A strong eye for detail, a thorough understanding of current key trends and in depth knowledge of the fast fashion industry
- Research, reporting and in depth analysis on company's past performance to inform future collections
- Identifying, forecasting and interpreting seasonal market trends into commercial styles
- Sourcing and selecting fabrics for designs
- Assisting in range building and planning for current and future collections
- Reviewing competitor product and price offerings
- Managing product lifecycles, from planning ranges, developing product (if required) to delivery of product
- Monitor, maintain and report on seasonal styles, sales and inventory levels
- Corresponding and liaising with our overseas manufacturers/suppliers
- Attend fit sessions with design team as required
- Assisting in catalogue photo shoots
- Gather feedback from company manager, sales department and customers to analyse how the stock is selling, track the performance of the collection each season
Experience/Skills Required:
- Fashion Design Qualification
- Minimum of 2 years fast fashion industry experience
- Chinese (Cantonese and/or Mandarin) speaker preferred but not compulsory
- Strong numerical and analytical skills
- Good commercial and retail understanding
- Thorough technical knowledge of fabric and garment construction
- Advanced skills in Photoshop and Indesign
- Strong sourcing experience
- Have a deep understanding of the competitive nature of this market
- Excellent time management skills, must be reliable and efficient, ability to prioritise and multitask in order to meet deadlines
