Our client, a NSW Government Department are seeking a Change Manager of considerable experience to work on a "once in a generation reform program". Based in Mascot, this position will manage the delivery of the change stream of a major operations program. This includes responsibility of:

  • Stakeholder engagement, communications and change management
  • Creating business engagement and readiness (Ready/Willing/Able);
  • Enabling the "journey to the future" culture
  • Coordinating input of Industrial Relations, Human Factors & Learning and Development SME’s

Key Accountabilities:

The primary accountabilities involved in planning, managing and implementing ‘Change’ activities as part of the Transformation & Change workstream include:

  • Development and maintenance of stakeholder management and communications components of the Business Transformation & Change Program plan
  • Identification and management of issues and risks relating to stakeholder management and communications components of the Business Transformation and Change Program plan
  • Reporting to the Transformation and Change Program Manager and other stakeholders on the performance of stakeholder management and communications against the agreed plan, vision and strategy
  • Providing an assessment of business readiness to accept and adopt the changes required to make ROC operationally effective and recommendations to enable readiness
  • Work closely with the business and leadership to ensure alignment to the change vision and the creation of the future state culture
  • Management of key deliverables including:
  • Stakeholder engagement and communications plan
  • Business engagement and readiness plan and checklists
  • Change management plan and associated materials
  • Coordinating and aligning the contribution of subject matter experts to the overall program change approach (Ready, Willing & Able) in particular focusing upon, Working with the Industrial Relations SME to align the IR strategy and support to the project,
  • Working with Human Factors SMEs to develop the integrated human factors plan
  • Engage the Organisational Development capability to coordinate the appropriate involvement in key program planning and work
  • As the project moves towards in to delivery phase the Change Implementation will provide focus on the implementation plans, post-implementation support and transition to business as usual to ensure changes are integrated into the operational areas to support achievement of project outcomes

Key Requirements:

  • Demonstrates experience and capacity to influence significant organisational changes and improvements in a public sector environment
  • Proven capacity to establish relationships, work in partnership with stakeholders and influence senior executives
  • Considerable experience in the program management of major organisational reform
  • Proven capacity to establish relationships, work in partnership with stakeholders and influence senior executive
  • High level of business acumen
  • High level conceptual and analytical skills, and the capacity to develop solutions for a range of complex issues
  • Highly developed oral and written skills, particularly relevant to consultation and presentations at a senior level
  • Ability to plan and pursue challenging goals whilst successfully managing competing priorities
  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience
  • Demonstrated understanding of the tools and techniques used for project management
