We are seeking an experienced APS5 Market Information Officer to join the team within a Federal Government Agency based in Geelong.

The Role

Reporting to the Assistant Director - Market Information, the Market Information Officer will support work to understand the diversity of provider groups and interests, assessing the need for tailored information and delivering targeted engagement and communications strategies gained through a deep understanding of the designated submarket or provider segment.

The role will support information gathering research activities, work with internal stakeholders and external to identify the information and market stewardship needs for discrete submarkets or provider segments, and develop and execute communication plans. The role will also provide support with the preparation of communication material for providers, provider peak bodies and representative groups and industry stakeholders

Responsibilities will include:

  • Support the development and implementation of a provider segment information strategy within a strong project management methodology
  • Coordinate information gathering research activities including working with external government, industry bodies and provider representative groups
  • Support the development and delivery of provider channel content
  • Interpret and analyse data and reports relevant to provider segments or industry submarkets
  • Support the end-to-end development of information suites for sub-market or provider segment including working with internal staff, external stakeholders and contractors for consultation, product development and dissemination
  • Develop materials and resources across a range of platforms including accessible word document, PowerPoints, social media and designed publications
  • Support industry related projects including development or consultation on training or educational materials
  • The preparation of briefing materials on progress of the market information projects including executive level briefs and Ministerial correspondence as required.
  • Provide additional support across the Branch and Division when and where needed, and undertaking specific projects when required.
  • Ensure synergies across divisional projects through the use of standardised tools, processes and practices

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have the following -

  • Qualifications and/or demonstrated experience in market research or communications field.
  • Proficient use in Microsoft applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • An understanding of or lived experience in the field of disability is desirable
  • Ability to identify system gaps, and support creation of efficient processes.
  • Ability to work within the team and adapt quickly to a changing environment.
