About the business

This is a leading not for profit membership body acting as peak representation for a community of professionals across Australia. 

Each state has an individual body that make up the sections of the Australia wide governing body. 

About the role

The primary role of this position is to manage the professional development program and communications for the organisation in NSW in conjunction with NSW Executive Officer. This includes events management, member communications, membership advice and member support.

  • Co-ordinate Professional Development program and projects 
  • Work to ensure financial viability of events including responsibility for event budgets.
  • Work with other staff, branches and committee's to ensure an annual PD and events program 
  • Co-ordinate an annual State Conference and Awards Dinner.
  • Manage relationships with current and potential event sponsors.
  • Market professional development opportunities
  • Prepare regular eNews bulletins, event news and other electronic communications in collaboration with the Executive Officer
  • Ensure information on the news and events pages of the website is current and accurate.
  • Work as part of the team in a cohesive and supportive manner.
  • Undertake design and desktop publishing of flyers, templates and other material as needed.

Skills and experience

In order to be considered for this position you will need to be able to display and prove the following; 

  • Experience and skills in organising events, seminars and other functions
  • Initiative and capacity to work with minimal supervision
  • Experience in working with sponsors
  • Ability and interest in working with volunteers
  • Well developed computer skills 
  • Excellent communication skills

While there are no mandatory qualifications for this position, the following would be desirable:

  • Appropriate qualifications in business administration, event management, marketing or another discipline relevant to the position
  • Experience in event management
  • Experience or understanding of working with volunteers.
  • Experience or understanding of working in a Not For Profit environment
